Vision & Mission
AtĀ bjjkids.org, our vision is to create a brighter future for underprivileged children in the favelas of Brazil and beyond through the power of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed, regardless of their circumstances.
Our mission is to provide these children with access to modern, safe, and welcoming BJJ academies where they can train, learn valuable life skills, and build self-confidence and self-discipline. We also strive to create a supportive community of BJJ practitioners who can inspire and encourage these children to pursue their goals and reach their full potential.
We are dedicated to transforming the lives of these children and helping them to overcome the challenges they face. By providing them with access to the best possible BJJ training and support, we hope to give them the tools they need to succeed in life and make a positive impact on their communities.

Our first Academy
Despite the limited resources and adverse conditions, Professor Michael and his assistant Jeferson work tirelessly to keep the flame of ambition burning within each child who enters their academy. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu becomes more than just a sport; it becomes a lifeline, guiding these young minds away from the pitfalls of drugs and crime, and towards a path of self-discovery and empowerment.

Renovate an academy
The environment is everything! We want kids to love the mats and choose to spend as much time training as possible, and as consequence, stay away from the streets.
Kimonos & NoGi Apparel
We all know that kimonos aren't cheap. We will supply the necessary gear for the kids to train and compete.Ā
Online education for instructors
The teachers have a fundamental role in keeping a kid on the mats.Ā They willĀ be trained to be able to offer the best education children can ask for.
Registration for championships and travel costs
Registering for championships and supporting travel costs is essential for our young athletes. It enables them to compete, showcase their skills, and stay focused on their goals.Ā
Meet Pedro Monteiro
Straight from Morro da Providencia, the oldest favela in Brazil, 8 year old Pedro has already a collection of medals. He joined Jiu-jitsu after his brother passed away and since then he won gold in several championships.Ā Now his family and his coach are trying to raise money for Pedro to fulfill his dream of competing in Abu Dhabi
